Christophe Willem

Christophe Willem ( born August 3, 1983 in Enghien- les- Bains, France; actually Christophe Durier ) is a French singer and winner of the French edition of Nouvelle Star in 2006.

Biography

For most of his childhood and youth spent Christophe Durier in Deuil- la -Barre, Val- d'Oise department, where his parents owned a driving school. At the age of seven he began to learn piano at seven years later he devoted himself to jazz and gospel singing.

In November 2005, he attended the Casting Nouvelle Star, the French edition of Germany sucht den Superstar, after his sister has registered him there. He convinced the jury with an improvised choreography of the song Strong Enough by Des'ree.

After nine weeks, he won against the finalist Miss Dominique (born: Dominique Michalon ) and was chosen as the Nouvelle Star 2006.

On 16 April 2007 he brought under the name of Christophe Willem out his debut album Inventaire on which he has collaborated, among others, Philippe Katerine, Zazie, Bertrand and Valérie Lemercier Burgalat. His first tour was completely sold out immediately.

The first album excerpt Elu produit de l' année was not often played by radio stations, and so decided his record company, this is not to publish as a single. They brought therefore on 25 May 2007 out a remix of Double each as a single CD. Double each was previously the most downloaded song of the week from 15 to 21 April.

Christophe Willems album Inventaire was awarded double platinum and double ever sold in the first three weeks nearly 100,000 times.
