Christopher Gunning

Christopher Gunning, [ ˌ t ʰ krɪs əfə ɡʌnɪŋ ] (* August 5, 1944 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England ) is a British film and television composer who is also known for his orchestral and concert works.

Life and work

Christopher Gunning studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where, among others, Edmund Rubbra and Richard Rodney Bennett were among his tutors, musicology.

Gunning's compositions for film and television have been awarded in the past frequently: He received the 2008 BAFTA Award for Best Original Score for his work on the soundtrack of the film La vie en rose ( original title: La Môme ), three other awards for his work to the music of the television programs Agatha Christie's Poirot and Porterhouse Blue and the adaptation of the novel Middlemarch.
