Chucho Merchán

Chucho Merchan ( born December 24, 1952 in Bogotá ) is a Colombian bassist and guitarist in the rock and in fusion music.

Life and work

Merchan worked since 1968 in Colombian Salsa, Latin and rock bands. He retired in 1970 in the United States, to study and make music. Between 1974 and 1979 he continued his studies in England and locked it in Cambridge. Then he moved to London, where he played until 1982 with Nucleus and his own band " Macondo " founded. He also played with Mose Allison, Gordon Beck, John Taylor, Working Week and Hank Crawford. As a studio musician he worked with the Eurythmics and The Pretenders. He was still in the projects of Annie Lennox, Pete Townshend, David Gilmour, Bryan Adams, George Harrison and Robert Wyatt ( Shleep, Comic Opera) involved and put their own albums before.
