Chüden is a town in the district town of Salzwedel in the Altmark Salzwedel in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

History

By the end of 2009, until then independent municipality Chüden consisted of the districts of large Chüden, small Chüden and cranny. She was a member of the administrative community Salzwedel country.

Due to a change in the contract area, the municipal council of the municipality Chüden decided on 22 April 2009 that the church Chüden is incorporated in the Salzwedel. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2010.

After incorporation of the previously autonomous municipality Chüden large Chüden, small Chüden and cranny districts of Salzwedel were. Attractions

The Church in Great Chüden is a fortified church, which was built between the 12th and 13th centuries from boulders, wherein the tower was come until the 15th century. It houses a altgotischen carved from the 15th century with a Madonna and Saints 16.

The Chapel of small Chüden hosts a late-Gothic carved altar of 1499, which comes from the chapel of the nearby village razed Jahrsau. The bell of the former chapel of Jahrsau depends here today - outside of the small chapel Chüdener after earlier whose bell was melted down by the Nazis for the weapons production.
