Circular Head Council

Circular Head is located on the northwest tip of the island about 300 km from the capital Hobart. The area includes 37 districts and towns: Alconde, Arthur River, Black River, Brittons, Broadmeadows Christmas Hills Cowrie Point Crayfish Creek Detention, Detention River, Edith Creek, Forest, Hellyer Irishtown, Lileah, Marrawah, Mawbanna, Mella, Mengha, Montagu, Montagu Swamp, West Montagu, Nabageena, Port Latta, Redpa, Rocky Cape Roger River Scopus Scothctown, Smithton, South Forest, Stanley, Swamp, Temma, Togari, Trowutta, Wiltshire and Woolnorth. The headquarters of the Council is located in Smithton on the coast in the north of the LGA where about 4200 inhabitants.

Management

The Circular Head Council has nine members. The Mayor ( Mayor ), his deputy ( deputies) and Councillor seven are elected directly by the residents of the LGA. Circular Head is not divided into districts.
