CIVETS

CIVETS is a group of six states, which are referred to as new emerging markets and for a great economic upturn is expected. The acronym stands for the first letters of the name of the combined countries:

• C for Colombia,
• I for Indonesia,
• V for Vietnam,
• E for Egypt Egypt,
• T for Turkey Turkey and
• S for South Africa South Africa.

The acronym was coined by Michael Geoghegan, CEO of the British bank HSBC. For the countries involved also the name civets States is used by the civet, civet English, a civet.
