Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is an indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York, USA.

History

The first album of the band, which also bears the name of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, was published in 2005. David Bowie and David Byrne among its prominent supporters. From Rolling Stone, they were honored as "Hot New Band " of 2005. On 3 October 2005, she signed a recording contract with Wichita Recordings. Except Ounsworth who lives in Philadelphia, all the band members live in Brooklyn. Their single Is This Love came into the UK charts in December 2005. On 30 January 2007 the second album Some Loud Thunder was released.

Frontman Alec Ounsworth has a side project ( Flashy Python and the Body Snatchers - ), while drummer Sean Greenhalgh incidentally plays in the Guns N 'Roses tribute band Mr. Brownstone. Robbie Guertin and Tyler Sargent also play in the band Unhibitable Mansions.
