Clas Brede Bråthen

Clas Brede Brathen ( born November 28, 1968) is a former Norwegian ski jumper and today's ski jumping official.

Brathen began his international career at the Junior World Championship in 1986 in Lake Placid, where he won the bronze medal on the large hill. Previously had already become in the same year Norwegian junior champion. On December 30, 1987, he was part of the prelude to jumping Four Hills Tournament 1987/88 his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup in Oberstdorf, reaching the 70th place. In 1988 he was re- Norwegian junior champion. At the end of the season 1987/88 he first could jump into the top ten and came to 9th place in Meldal. In the first competition the following season in Sapporo him the first and only time in his career the jump succeeded on the podium. After another good performance, he finished the 1988/89 season at the end on the 27th place in the overall World Cup standings. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1989 in Lahti, he won the silver medal in the team competition. In jumping on the normal hill he jumped up on the 15th and on the large hill on the 11th Place. As of 1992, moved Brathen in the ski jumping Continental Cup after his performances in the World Cup subsided. In 1994 he won the gold medal in Vegårshei on the normal hill at the Norwegian Championships. Two years later he won with the team again the gold medal, but ended shortly after his active ski jumping career.

Since 2001 Brathen member of the Norwegian Ski and there head of the ski department. Brathen one of the supporters of the international women's ski jumping.
