Claudia Zackiewicz

Claudia Reidick, also known as Claudia Zaczkiewicz, ( born July 4, 1962 in Oberhausen ) is a former German track and field athlete and Olympic medal winner, who - starting for the Federal Republic - was successful in the 100 - meter hurdles.

Life

She reached for the first time at the German Championship 1983 finals. In 1986 she became German Vice-Champion and participated in the European Championships in Stuttgart, where she was eliminated in the flow. The following year she was for the first time German champion, finishing at the World Championships in Rome in 12.98 seconds seventh place.

At the German Championships in 1988 she was able to defend her title and qualified for the XXIV Summer Olympic Games in Seoul. There she won the bronze medal behind the Bulgarian Jordanka Donkowa and Gloria Siebert from the GDR. 1987 and 1988 they increased three times in the West German record until her personal best of 12.75 seconds in Seoul.

1989 Zaczkiewicz became the third consecutive German champion and competed for the European team at the World Cup in Barcelona.
