Claus Meyer

Claus Meyer Nielsen (born 27 December 1963 Nykøbing ) is a Danish TV chef, restaurateur and co-founder of the restaurant Noma.

Career

Meyer went to high school for a year as an au pair in France; then he studied until 1991 at the Copenhagen Business School.

The wider public he was known as a TV chef, when he headed the mission Køkken Meyers ( Meyers kitchen) from 1991 to 1999 on DR1. In 2007 he re-entered as a TV chef with the show Mad i Norden - Smag på Danmark (English Taste of Denmark) in appearance. He is also involved in a variety of businesses.

Meyer is next to René Redzepi co-owner of Noma restaurant in Copenhagen, the consecutive received an award as the world's best restaurant in 2010 three times. He has published a number of cookbooks and promoted by many lectures the public debate on food quality.

In September 2010, he was awarded the Danish Order of Merit Dannebrogorden.

Claus Meyer is married and has 3 children.
