Clerke Rocks

The Clerke Rocks are a group of 15 small rocky islands in the southern Atlantic Ocean, about 74 kilometers southeast of the southern tip of South Georgia located. They extend from west to east over a length of 8 km and reach a height of up to 240 m. The rocks are uninhabited and are politically to the British overseas territory of " South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands ", but are also claimed by Argentina.

The islands were on January 23, 1775 to James Cook's second Pacific Voyage of Charles Clerke, the commander of the resolution, discovered and named after him.
