Clive Hollick, Baron Hollick

Clive Richard Hollick, Baron Hollick, of Notting Hill in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea ( born May 20, 1945 in Southampton ) is a British media manager, entrepreneur and Labour Party politician, who since 1991 as a life peer member of the House of Lords is.

Life

Hollick completed after the visit of Richard Taunton Grammar School studying in the fields of political science, psychology and sociology at the University of Nottingham. He began his professional career in 1967 with the Hambros Bank, and in 1973 the youngest member of the board in the history of this bank was founded in 1839 and had been a member until 1996. Later, he began working for the media company United Business Media plc (UBM plc ) and was most recently Chief Executive Officer until 2005 ( CEO). In 1988, he was the founder of the think tank Institute for Public Policy Research ( IPPR ).

By Letters Patent of 20 June 1991 Hollick was raised in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to the peerage as a life peer with the title Baron Hollick, of Notting Hill. Shortly afterwards, was his introduction ( Introduction) as a member of the House of Lords. In the upper house he belongs to the Group of the Labour Party.

In the following period was Lord Hollick 1997-1998 Special Adviser to the President of the Board of Trade and from 2000 to 2002 member of the board of TRW Inc. and then between 2002 and 2008 the South Bank. He was also from 2005 to 2008 Partner of the private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and then to 2010 Senior Advisor of this company. In the course of his career he was also a board member of the drinks group Diageo, Honeywell Inc, the private television station ProSieben, as well as of the music rights management company specializing BMG Rights Management.
