Clive, New Zealand

Clive is a small town 10 km south of Napier and 10 km northeast of Hastings in the Hawke 's Bay region on the North Island of New Zealand. It is near the mouth of the Ngaruroro River.

The place had the Census 2001 1350 inhabitants, in 2006 to 1581. The place got as many places in the area named after a personality of British colony of India, in this case, Robert Clive, 1st Baron Clive. The name John Curling awarded to the place.

The location is rural and economically from farms, orchards and horticulture and sheep shearing coined. However, since the Hawke 's Bay experienced an influx and lies between the areas of Hastings and Napier Urbanan middle, creating new residential areas for the growing population.

Clive is the basis of the rowing clubs Hawke 's Bay Rowing Club, who trains in the Clive River. Taking place since 1985 rowing regatta of Hawke 's Bay will be held on the first weekend of the year and is the oldest regatta in New Zealand.

The " Farndorn Park " offers, among other sports facilities, a swimming pool and a small zoo.
