Coal Chamber
Coal Chamber is an American nu metal band from Los Angeles, which was founded in 1994. The band can be named as one of the pioneers of the nu-metal scene besides grain and Limp Bizkit, although it Coal Chamber music critics According never managed to step out of the shadows.
History
The band was founded in 1994, initially from Dez Fafara as a singer and as a guitarist Meegs Rascon, both played together in the band She's In Pain. Bassist Rayna Foss joined on the former girlfriend of Fafara the band. The three were now looking for a drummer and eventually opted for Mike Cox.
After three demos managed the band in 1996 to sign a record deal with Roadrunner Records. Getting attention in the Nu- Metal scene, the band received the 1997 released single " Loco " from their first, self-titled album.
Her second album was released in 1999 and contained Chamber Music guest appearances by Ozzy Osbourne and Aimee Echo ( Human Waste Project formerly ). On the subsequent tour Nadja Peulen replaced the straight pregnant Rayna Foss - Rose (at this time married to Morgan Rose of Sevendust ).
With Dark Days in the spring of 2002 appeared the third Coal Chamber album. Shortly after the shooting left Rayna Foss - Rose, the band because they wanted to completely take care of their family. Nadja Peulen consequently became a permanent member of the band.
Increasingly, it came in the band structure to verbal and sometimes even physical, even discharged on stage disputes between Dez Fafara and Rascon Meegs. In October 2002, again Mike Cox was fired due to differences with Dez Fafara and Rascon Meegs and they separated also by management. The band initially sought a new drummer, and shortly afterwards but all band activities were discontinued.
In 2003, Giving the Devil His Due, a compilation of demo songs, remixes and rare pieces. Thereupon, Coal Chamber broke on officially.
In September 2011, the band announced to want to reform to occur around 2012 in the Australian Soundwave Festival. After the performances at the Soundwave Festival, it was first again quiet around the band. In September 2012, followed by a brief tour of South America, in the spring of 2013 the band played a U.S. tour with Sevendust. In the summer of 2013, followed by concerts at various European festivals, including Rock am Ring, Download Festival, Hellfest, Graspop Metal Meeting, With Full Force and several European club shows.
On October 31, 2013 it was announced that Nadja Peulen is back in the band again and thus Chela Rhea Harper replaced on bass guitar.
New studio material of the band but it should not give at least for now.
Other activities of the band members
Dez Fafara is the singer of the band DevilDriver, which had already established this parallel to his time with Coal Chamber.
Meegs Rascon was active until 2009 in the band Glass Piñata.
Since September 2010 Meegs Rascon and Mike Cox playing together in We are the RIOT.
Nadja Peulen founded the t-shirt company Cruel teas and was on Roadrunner United project for the 25th anniversary of Roadrunner Records involved. Since 2010 she has been part of the band Vera Mesmer.
