Codex Athous Lavrensis

The Codex Athous Laurensis ( Gregory -Aland no 044 or Ψ; von Soden δ 6 ) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament, which is dated to the 8th or 9th century. The handwriting is not completely preserved.

Description

The manuscript consists of almost the whole of the New Testament ( except the Book of Revelation ) on 261 parchment leaves with gaps (Matthew, Mark 1.1 to 9.5 and the last sheet of Hebrews missing). It has a size of 21 × 15.5 cm. The text is in a column with 31 rows. Accents, spiritus asper and lenis are available.

The manuscript contains the Ammonianischen sections (Mark 233), the Eusebischen canon, and Neume.

The Catholic Epistles are arranged in an unusual order: 1-2 Peter, James, 1-3 John, Jude.

The Greek text of Codex represents the Alexandrian (Mark, Kath ) or Byzantine Text Type ( Luke, John ). He is assigned to category III.

Mark 11.26, 15.28, and the pericope John 7:53-8:11 is missing.

This manuscript contains the variant Tim 3:16 θεος εφανερωθη.

History

The Codex is in the Great Lavra Monastery ( Lavra B ' 52) kept in Athos.
