History of the Code

The Code has been used in part of Desiderius Erasmus as the basis for his Novum Testamentum ( 1516). In this way, his reading was a part of the Textus Receptus. Erasmus received the Code by a Dominican monk in Basel. Robert Estienne used this manuscript in his Editio Regia not ( 1550), but it is based on the text of Erasmus. The Code was quoted in the 27th edition of Novum Testamentum Grace by Nestle -Aland only at one point ( 1 Cor 11:23).

The Code is now at the University of Basel (AN IV 1).
