Codex Freerianus

Codex Freerianus ( Gregory -Aland no I or 016; von Soden α 1041 ) is a Greek manuscript of the Pauline Epistles, which is dated to the 5th century. The Codex missing parts ( Romans ). The handwriting is not completely preserved. It was named after Charles Lang Freer, who bought the manuscript in Egypt.

Description

The Codex Freerianus consists of 84 described parchment leaves (25 x 20 cm). The Codex is preserved in the Smithsonian Institution ( Freer Gallery of Art, 06 275 ) in Washington.

The Greek text of Codex Freerianus represents the Alexandrian text-type. The text of the Codex is assigned to Category II.
