Codex Macedoniensis

The Codex macedoniensis ( Gregory -Aland no Y or 034; von Soden ε 073 ) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament, which is dated to the 9th century. The manuscript is not complete.

Description

It consists of the four Gospels on 309 parchment leaves with 6 gaps (Matt. 1.1 to 9.11; 10.35 to 11.4; Luke 1.26-36, 15.25 to 16.5; 23.22 - 34; Jn 20.27 to 21.17 ). The format is 18 x 13 cm, the text is in one column and 16 rows.

The Greek text of Codex represents the Byzantine text-type and the category V is assigned. It lacks Matt 16.2 b-3 and John 7:53-8:11.

The manuscript was examined by Tischendorf, Braithwaite, and Lake.

The Codex is in the Cambridge University Library ( Add. 6594 ) held in Cambridge.
