Codex Porphyrianus

The Codex Porfirianus ( Gregory -Aland no sweet p or 025; von Soden α 3 ) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament, which is dated to the 9th century. The manuscript is not complete.

Description

It consists of the Acts, Catholic Epistles, Pauline Epistles and the Book of Revelation on 327 parchment leaves (16 × 13 cm). The Codex is ( Gr. 225 ) preserved in the Russian National Library in St. Petersburg.

The manuscript is a palimpsest, the upper text, dated to the year 1301, contains the minuscule 1834 ( Euthalius ).

The Greek text of Codex represents the Byzantine text-type in Acts and Revelation and the category V is assigned. The text of the Epistles of Paul and Catholic Epistles is assigned to category III.
