Codex Vaticanus 2066

The Codex Vaticanus Graecus 2066 ( Gregory -Aland no 046; von Soden α 2070 ) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament, which dates to the 10th century. Previously Codex Basilianus.

Description

The manuscript covers almost the entire book of Revelation on 20 parchment leaves. It has a size of 27.5 × 19 cm. The text is in columns with a column of 35 lines, and about 36 letters per line. The letters tend to right. The parchment is thick, the ink black - brown. Spiritus asper, Spiritus lenis, and accents of first hand.

The manuscript also contains writings of St. Basil the Great, Gregory of Nyssa, and other church fathers.

The Greek text of Codex represents the Byzantine text-type. It is assigned to the category V. There are similarities to the minuscule 61 and the minuscule 69

History

The Codex is preserved in the Vatican Library ( Gr. 2066 ) in Rome.
