Cole Ranch AVA

Cole Ranch AVA ( recognized since 15 April 1983) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California. The area covers the administrative area of Mendocino County. Cole Ranch is a subzone of three parent AVA 's: Mendocino AVA, Mendocino County and the North Coast AVA.

With barely 45 hectares is the smallest protected designation of origin in the United States. The American Viticultural Area located between the Russian River and Anderson Valley. The total area under vines is owned by a single winery, the Esterlina Winery, which sold a portion of its grape harvest of other goods. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Riesling are the most important grape varieties of the region.
