Colin Stanley Gum

Colin Stanley Gum ( * 1924, † April 29, 1960 ) was an Australian astronomer, the emission nebula cataloged the southern celestial sphere with a wide-field camera.

Gum published in 1955 a study entitled A study of diffuse southern H -alpha nebulae, which concerned a mist, which was subsequently named after him Gum Nebula. Gum was in the team of Frank John Kerr and Gart Westerhout, the particular precise, the so-called HI line at 21 cm radio radiation in space.

The lunar crater gum was also named after him.
