Coliseum Alfonso Pérez

  • Finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League 2009/10

The Coliseum Alfonso Pérez is a located in the Madrid suburb of Getafe football stadium. It serves the club Getafe as homestead.

History

The stadium was opened in 1998 and is named in honor of the Getafe -born former Spanish football player Alfonso Pérez Muñoz. Noteworthy here was that Alfonso, as he was usually called for short, was at that time still an active player at Real Betis. Although he himself comes from Getafe, but has never played at the local football club, his career began in the youth of Real Madrid.

The stadium originally took 14,400 spectators, but was gradually expanded and currently has a capacity of 17,000 seats. The north and the east stand are built on natural hills, the West Stand has been completely covered.

On 20 May 2010 the final of the UEFA Women's Champions League was held in Getafe 2009/10.
