The Comarques giro ines ( " Comarcas of Girona" ) are one of seven territories ( Ambit funcionals Territorials ) of the Autonomous Community of Catalonia, who were with the Regional Plan ( Pla territorial general de Catalunya) decided in 1995 by law.

The Comarques giro ines have an area of ​​5558 km ² and 573 123 inhabitants (2009 ). The territory is located in the extreme east of Catalonia on the border with France.
