Ponent

The Ponent is one of seven territories ( Ambit funcionals Territorials ), Autonomous Community of Catalonia in, which was with the Regional Plan ( Pla territorial general de Catalunya) decided in 1995 by law.

The Ponent has an area of ​​5999 km ² and has 301,964 inhabitants (2009 ). The territory is located in the extreme west of Catalonia on the border with the autonomous communities of Aragon.
