Conceição Ferreira

Conceição Ferreira ( born March 13, 1962 in Aveleda ) is a former Portuguese long-distance runner.

1988 was second in the Paris Marathon and qualified for the marathon by the Games in Seoul in 1988, where she finished in 20th place. In 1989, she was third in 1990 and second in 1991 at the Fourth Tokyo International Women's Marathon, they also won the 1990 Pittsburgh Marathon in 2:30:34 h following year she posed as seventh Boston Marathon personal best 2:30: 18 h.

Your greatest successes they achieved, however, in the following years, over shorter distances. In 1992, she presented with 31:16.42 min on a Portuguese record in the 10,000 -meter run. This was followed by a sixth place over this distance at the World Athletics Championships in 1993 and winning the title at the World Half Marathon Championships the same year. The following year, she won first a bronze medal at the World Cross Country Championships and the silver medal in the 10,000 - meter race of the European Athletics Championships in 1994.

She took two more times participate in the Olympics. For the Games in 1992, she reached the final of the 10,000 -meter run, which, however, did not finish, and at the Games in Atlanta in 1996 she divorced in the flow from the same distance.
