Conception (band)

Conception was a Power-/Progressive-Metal-Band from Raufoss, Norway.

History

The band was founded in 1989 in Norway by guitarist gates Østby, singer Dag Østby, drummer Werner Skogli and bassist Freddy Samsonstuen. A year later, Dag left the band. New singer was Roy Khan, an opera singer ( 1998-2011 singer of Kamelot ). First, the band took over the sales of their debut album The Last Sunset with his own label CSF Records, but signed in 1993 a contract with Noise Records. There, the second album Parallel Minds appeared. 1995 the third album In Your Multitude, 1997, the fourth and last album Flow, the influences of flamenco had. After the band split up.

Conception in 2005 reunited for a short time and played on the U.S. progressive metal festival and a festival in Norway. Since then the band is inactive.
