Conlan Carter

Chester Conlan Carter ( born October 3, 1934 in Center Ridge, Arkansas ) is an American actor.

Life

Carter grew up as the younger brother of John Carter up on a farm in Missouri. He attended 1952-1954 the Southeast Missouri State University and then served two years at the United States Air Force. He then moved to San Francisco where he studied acting and was involved in local theater productions. In 1959 he moved to Hollywood and quickly received television roles. He guest starred in the Western series Gunsmoke, a thousand miles of dust, West of Santa Fe, The people of the Virginian and Bonanza and had a recurring role in The Law and Mr. Jones on the side of James Whitmore. Larger notoriety with the U.S. audience he gained through his portrayal of Doc in the gambling during the World War II series Combat! on the side of Vic Morrow. After the end of the series Carter continued to be seen until the mid-1980s as a guest star on television, he had a notable film career not against it. After he retired from the film business and worked as a pilot.
