Corneliu Robe

Corneliu Robe (* May 23, 1908 in Bucharest, † January 4, 1969 ) was a Romanian football player. He came to 40 inserts in the highest Romanian league, the Divizia A, and participated in the World Cup 1930.

Career

Corneliu Robe began playing football in his home town of Bucharest in Coltea initially, later he moved to Olympia Bucharest. There he moved up into the first team in 1929. But Olympia could not prevail against the competition from Juventus and Venus, so that robe was denied participation in the final round of the Romanian football championship.

As Olympics in 1932 was not one of the founding members of the Romanian Professional Football League Divizia A, he moved to local rivals Unirea Tricolor, where he had his first appearance on 4 September 1932. Robe was during the four years that he stayed with Unirea Tricolor, never for a long time regulars. In 1936 he left the club and joined Sportul Studenţesc in the Divizia B, where his career in 1937 came to an end.

National

Robe played 14 games for the Romanian national football team, but not score. His start he gave on July 21, 1930 during the football World Cup in Uruguay in the 0-4 defeat against the hosts.
