Cornellà de Llobregat

Cornella de Llobregat [ kʊɾnəʎɑ də ʎʊβɾəɣɑt ] is a city in the metropolitan area of Barcelona in the Spanish Autonomous Community of Catalonia and belongs to the metropolitan area Area Metropolitana de Barcelona.

Administratively, a town in the province of Barcelona and within the circle Baix Llobregat. The city is located in the southeast of the urban area and borders the municipalities of L' Hospitalet de Llobregat, Sant Boi de Llobregat, El Prat de Llobregat, Sant Joan Despi and Esplugues de Llobregat. The city lies on the north bank of the Llobregat river. Cornella de Llobregat has 86 687 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The community area is 6.9 km ².

Cornella de Llobregat is a typical suburban community, which has experienced strong population growth in the 20th century. In Cornella is the Polígon Industrial Almeda. The city is connected via the public transport network (metro, bus, tram and regional train) to Barcelona.
