Coro Coro, Bolivia

Coro Coro is a village in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

Coro Coro is the central place of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Coro Coro and administrative center of the province Pacajes. The village lies at an altitude of 3980 m on the Bolivian Altiplano, about seventy line kilometers south-east of Lake Titicaca.

Geography

Coro Coro is located in the Bolivian highlands between the Andes mountain ranges, the Cordillera Occidental and the Cordillera Central in the west to the east. The region has a pronounced diurnal climate where the average temperatures fluctuate more during the day than during the year.

Coro Coro is located at a distance of 130 kilometers of road south-west of La Paz, the capital of the department of the same name.

From La Paz from the unpaved highway Ruta 2 leads to El Alto, from there the Ruta 19 in a southwesterly direction over Viacha to Caquiaviri and on to Charaña to the Chilean border. From Caquiaviri performs a dirt road over thirty kilometers south-easterly direction to Coro Coro. At Coro Coro passes a railway line that leads from La Paz to Charaña and on to Chile.
