Purple Dickfuß ( Cortinarius traganus )

The veil Ling relatives ( Cortinariaceae ) family comprises a large area in the fungal kingdom. Probably the genera polyphyletic origin, so that in the scheme nor can take place several changes.

Some species - especially the Haarschleierlinge ( Cortinarius ) - usually have veillike Velumreste (Latin Cortina = veil ), which dissolve during growth of the fruit body in hair-like fibers and also typical annular zones may form on the stem. The slats are just grown or bulged, their color is rusty brown spore maturity in the rule. Likewise, the spore powder / - rust colored brown and never black.

Importance

In this family there are very few edible mushrooms. The most famous barn owl ( Cortinarius praestans ) and the frost fungus (C. caperatus, syn. Rozites caperata ). At deadly poisonous mushrooms of Orangefuchsiger Raukopf (C. orellanus ) and Spitzgebuckelter are Raukopf (C. rubellus, syn. C. speciosissimus ) to call that cause the Orellanus syndrome.
