Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire
Cosne- Cours- sur -Loire is a commune with 10,484 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Nièvre in the Burgundy region. It is the administrative seat of the arrondissement Cosne- Cours- sur- Loire and the cantons Cosne- Cours- sur- Loire and North Cosne- Cours- sur- Loire Sud. She is a member of the Communauté de communes et Loire Nohain.
The city was formed on 1 January 1973 from the communities Cosne- sur -Loire and Cours, and is usually only called Cosne. It lies on the Loire and on Nohain, on Route nationale 7 and the Autoroute A77.
Part of the agricultural land is used for growing grapes. The vineyards of the community associated with the protected appellation Coteaux du Giennois.
