Coteaux du Lyonnais

Coteaux du Lyonnais is a French wine region, which is attributed to the Beaujolais because of similar wines. The wine-growing area has the status of an AOC since 9 May 1984. Immediately to the south begins the Rhône wine region. The 40-km long and a maximum of 30 kilometers west of the city of Lyon is structured by a small ridge. The maximum height of this hill is 500 m. In 2008, about 14,000 hectoliters of wine were produced on 325 acres. The proportion of red and rosé wines was 90 percent.

Varieties

In general, the yields are limited to 60 hectoliters / hectare.

The red wines and rosés are made from the Gamay grape variety. Before the fermentation of the natural minimum sugar content of the must should not be 162 g / l, an alcohol content of 10.5 percent by volume of the wine corresponds to (→ Most weight).
