Coton Sport FC de Garoua

Coton Sport Garoua de Football Club is a football club based in Cameroon. He is based in Garoua in the North Province.

History

Since the rise in the Première Division in 1993, the club was founded in 1986 has developed into one of the most successful clubs in Cameroon. At first attempt succeeded in 1994, the runner-up and also in the following years was the team to the top of each group. First time in 1997 succeeded in winning the national championship in the following season's title defense.

1999 was Coton Sport for the first time in the cup final, but Canon Yaoundé was beaten 1-2. After two runner-up of the club the championship ended in 2001 again first. 2002 you had to Canon Yaounde to defer, but won since 2003, four times in a row the title. In addition, 2003 and 2004, the Double succeeded, as in the cup final first Sable FC 2-1 and in the following season Union Douala was defeated 1-0.

In the last edition of the CAF Cup in 2003, Coton Sport reached the Final, but lost after a 0-2 defeat in the first leg and 0-0 on its own court Raja Casablanca defeated. In 2008, the team reached the final of the CAF Champions League, but it lost to al Ahly Cairo.
