Courtney Hunt

Courtney Hunt ( born 1964 in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American screenwriter and director.

Life

Courtney Hunt was in 2008 with the film Frozen River her directorial debut, to which she also wrote the screenplay. For her debut album, she received numerous awards, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, nominated for an Oscar, Independent Spirit Award and a Satellite Award for Best Original Screenplay. In addition, she won a Gotham Award, a New York Film Critics Circle Award for the best first film, as well as other awards at various film festivals.

Most recently, Hunt directed some episodes of the TV series In Treatment - The therapist with Gabriel Byrne in the lead role and an episode of the long-lived crime series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
