Craig Moore

Craig Andrew Moore ( born December 12, 1975 in Canterbury ) is a former Australian football player.

Club career

Glasgow Rangers

In 1993, Moore went to the Australia and Glasgow Rangers. After a short stay at the youth department, he played from 1993 to 2005 for the Rangers. He was one of the major players within the team. From October 1998 to March 1999 he was on loan to the then English second division side Crystal Palace in the short term.

In 2004 he was a participant with the Australian team at the Summer Olympic Games in Athens. That's why he could not attend the first league games in Scotland, which earned him trouble with manager Alex McLeish. In the resulting argument, he left the club during the winter break of the season 2004/2005.

Borussia Mönchengladbach

In the Gladbach he played half a year. After his former Rangers manager Dick Advocaat had left the club in April 2005, also saw Moore no future aground for Borussia.

Newcastle United

On 30 July 2005, he signed a two -year contract with Newcastle United. On 22 March 2006 he made his competitive debut. In the FA Cup quarter-finals, he played from the start against Chelsea and was the first Australian who was employed at Newcastle.

Brisbane Roar

On 25 July 2007 Moore signed a contract with the Australian first division club Queensland Roar (now Brisbane Roar ). In December 2009, Brisbane dissolved the contract with Moore. This was due to differences that were found in an interview with Moore's coach Ange Postecoglou.

Moore also wanted to increase his chances of returning to Europe to participate for the 2010 World Cup.

After the FIFA World Cup 2010, he finished his career.

National

In the Australian national team in 1995 he gave his debut in a game in Ghana.

After 39 games in eleven years, in which he scored three goals, he declared on 6 February 2008 announced his retirement from the national team. He gave this right after a 3-0 win against Qatar in Melbourne in the World Cup qualifiers known.
