Craig Schira

Craig Schira (born 21 April 1988, in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since 2013 in Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho in the SM- liiga under contract.

Career

Schira was initially active for the Regina Pats of the Canadian top junior Western Hockey League from 2003 to 2007. In September 2007, the Regina Pats him transferred together with Mike Reich in exchange for Tim Kraus and Juraj Valach to the Vancouver Giants. For the Giants to Shira developed positively, especially in the offensive and filled his role as a two-way defender. In his final WHL season, the season 2008/ 09, he scored in 71 games of the regular season 16 goals and 43 assists. In the playoffs, the Canadians defeated the team in the Conference Finals to the eventual champions Kelowna Rockets in six games. The ungedraftete actor, signed in March 2009 a three-year entry-level contract with the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League. In the following AHL season 2009/10 debut for their AHL farm team, the Binghamton Senators. In the 2010/11 season he won the Calder Cup Binghamton. By the end of the contract at end of season 2011/12 right-handed shooter was consistently active as a regular force and was subsequently committed in June 2012 by Frisk Asker from the Norwegian GET - ligaen.

Internationally

For the selection of Canada Western Shira stood at the World U -17 Hockey Challenge 2005 on the ice and won with the team as a tournament winner the gold medal. He also represented his country a year later at the U18 Junior World Cup in 2006, when the Canadian selection missed a medal win.
