Craig Wolanin
Craig Wolanin ( born July 27, 1967 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who in his playing days from 1984 to 1999 among others for the New Jersey Devils, Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs played in the National Hockey League.
Career
Craig Wolanin began his career as a hockey player with the Kitchener Rangers, where he was active in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League in the 1984/85 season. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1985 in the first round as the third player overall by the New Jersey Devils. For this the defender played in the next five years in the National Hockey League, where he in 1989/90 season on six inserts for New Jersey's farm team, the Utica Devils of the American Hockey League, came. On 6 March 1990 he was given in exchange for Peter Šťastný to the Quebec Nordiques. In these he played up to their relocation in 1995 to Denver, Colorado. This transfer rights by the American went on to Québec succession Team Colorado Avalanche. For the Avalanache the links Sagittarius scored in the 1995/96 season in 82 games eight goals and gave 20 assists.
The 1996/97 season began Wolanin at the Tampa Bay Lightning, but was released after only 15 appearances in which he had remained no points, to the Toronto Maple Leafs. When the Canadians he could in the aftermath never enforce properly because it a serious knee injury he had suffered in a game against the Montreal Canadiens on 1 November 1997, threw back again and again among others. After he could deny only 33 games in Toronto, one and a half years, his contract was not renewed. Finally, the former international signed on 31 January 1999 as a free agent with the Detroit Vipers of the International Hockey League. In these he ended the season at the age of 32 years of his career.

For the U.S. Wolanin participated in the 1994 World Cup, as well as the Canada Cup 1991 part.
