1985 NHL Entry Draft

The NHL Entry Draft in 1985, the annual talent contraction of the National Hockey League, was held on June 15, 1985 at the Convention Centre in Toronto, Canada in the Province of Ontario instead. It was the first draft outside of Montreal, where all contractions had been held since 1963. The event was attended by 7,000 spectators.

A total of 252 players were taken in twelve rounds. While in recent years have always been some promising talent in the draft was available, the draft year in 1985 was poor in later stars. Although the first selected Wendel Clark was never a superstar, but he played himself in the hearts of fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Joe Nieuwendyk was the most successful player who this year was on offer.
