1972 NHL Amateur Draft

The NHL Amateur Draft in 1972, the annual talent contraction of the National Hockey League, took place on 8 June 1972 at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, Canada in the province of Quebec instead.

A total of 152 players were taken in eleven rounds. The top pick Billy Harris came to nearly 900 games in the NHL. Almost eight years he remained with the New York Islanders and ran in all games of the team from Drafttag until his move in 1979 to. Only two players from the first round do not create 200 games in the NHL. In the later rounds Bob Nystrom was one of the more successful players. In contrast to Harris, he worked for the success of the Islanders still in the team. From the sixth round Peter McNab was still noticeable and stood in over 950 NHL games on the ice.
