Hamilton Steelhawks

The Hamilton Steel Hawks were a Canadian ice hockey team from Hamilton, Ontario. The team played from 1984 to 1988 in one of the three highest Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League ( OHL ).

History

The Brantford Alexanders in 1984 to Hamilton, Ontario, relocated and renamed Hamilton Steel Hawks. The name was chosen due to the steel industry in the region.

In her four seasons in the OHL, the Steel Hawks missed only in the 1985/86 season was the last of their division make the playoffs. Their greatest success was reaching the Conference semi-final in 1985 and 1988.

After only four years, the franchise was established in 1988 to Niagara Falls, Ontario, resettled, where, under the name Niagara Falls Thunder was then active in the OHL.
