Niagara IceDogs

The Niagara IceDogs are a Canadian ice hockey team from St. Catharines, Ontario. The team was founded in 2007 as a junior team and plays since in one of the three highest Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League ( OHL ).

History

The Mississauga IceDogs in 2007 to St. Catharines, Ontario, relocated, where they play as Niagara IceDogs since in the Ontario Hockey Legue. Prior to Bill Burke had the rights to the franchise Eugene Melnyk, owner of the Ottawa Senators and founder of Biovali bought, which in turn the rights to the Toronto St. Michael's Majors from St. Michael 's College acquired to this as Mississauga St. Michael's Majors in play the OHL allow.

In their first season, the Niagara IceDogs came in second in their division and reached the semi-final Conferences after St. Michael's Majors defeated the Mississauga with a sweep in the best- of-seven series. There, however, they were subject to the Oshawa Generals with 2:4 victories. In the 2008 /09 season they were fourth in the Central Division and beat in the playoffs first in Conference Quarterfinals, the Ottawa 67 's 4-3 victories just before it with 1:4 victories failed due to the Belleville Bulls in the Conference semi-finals.
