Crossharbour DLR station

Cross Harbour is a station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR ) in the London Borough London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 2 on the Isle of Dogs, at the East Ferry Road in Cubitt Town district.

In the neighborhood there was the sports and entertainment venue London Arena, which was demolished in June 2006 due to low usage. On the site of a housing development, which is why you renamed earlier than Crossharbour & London Arena designated station in Cross Harbour was built. South of the station is between the two track rails a siding, turn on the scheduled routes trains.

Was opened the station on 31 August 1987, together with the Grundetz the DLR. After a car bomb the IRA had exploded on February 9, 1996 near the adjacent South Quay station, the entire route had to be closed south of Heron Quays. A few weeks later, on April 16, the operation could be resumed.

During the heyday of the Docklands was almost at the same location of the Millwall Docks station of the Millwall Extension Railway. This railway line was from December 18, 1871 to May 4, 1926 in operation and opened the port facilities at the southern end of the Isle of Dogs. The station was demolished in January 1930.
