Cuanza Norte Province

Cuanza Norte ( also Kwanza Norte ) is a province of the African nation of Angola. It has about 400,000 inhabitants ² on an area of ​​24,110 km. The capital is N'dalatando. The province is named after the river Cuanza.

Location and Geography

The Cuanza Norte province lies north of the river Cuanza and about 100 km east of the capital, Luanda. It is bordered on the north by the province of Uige, to the east by Malanje, in the south on Cuanza Sul and in the west of Bengo.

In Cuanza Norte, the largest remaining tropical rainforest remnants are located in Angola. The rest of the province is covered with savannah. The main rivers are the Cuanza, which forms the southern boundary, and the Lucala and Bengo.

Population
