Cult (TV series)

Cult is an American TV series of the TV channel The CW and includes a season with 13 episodes. The film stars Matthew Davis and Jessica Lucas. The series revolves around a production assistant, and a blogger who together mysterious crimes are on the track. The first broadcast took place on February 19, 2013, following Hart of Dixie.

Action

The series takes place on two levels. One tells the mysterious crimes that Skye and Jeff investigate, and the other tells the story of the fictional series Cult in the series.

The nervous ex-junkie Nate believes that the fanatical followers of the TV series Cult enact the murders of the series in reality. As Nate suddenly disappears without a trace under mysterious circumstances, his brother Jeff Dean Sefton sets out to find him, but he feels guilty that he has not believed Nate. In his research, he meets the attractive, curious Production Assistant Series Skye Yarrow. Skye succeeds within a few seconds the content of Nate's cell phone to be restored. Thus they learn that Nate in his assumption was correct and a fanatical fan base enact the murders of series villain Billy Grimm. But Jeff will be in the firing line of supporters after he finds a CD from Nate that contains sensitive information. Jeff and Skyle realize that they could not trust anybody, as the investigating police officer Sakelik is follower of the cult itself.

In the fictional series Cult it comes to champagne leader Billy Grimm, who wants to win back his former lover and follower of Kelly Collins. But Kelly has escaped the sect and now works as a policewoman. In their investigation they will again involved in the activities of the group. The actor Roger Reeves, Billy Grimm plays and Marti Gerritsen, who plays Kelly Collins, have to cope with the popularity of the series and feel the impact on their real life.

Production

Cult was originally developed in 2006 for the TV channel The WB. However, after The WB merged with UPN to The CW, the project coincided with Matthew Bomer as the lead in The CW through. Six years later, the station finally ordered a revised version of the pilot episode. As executive producer Rockne S. O'Bannon acts alongside Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Len Goldstein. Produces the series, among others, Warner Bros. Television. The main role of Skye Yarrow went in February 2012 to Jessica Lucas. Other key leading role went to Alona Tal and Robert Knepper. The male lead was occupied on 13 March 2012, Matthew Davis.

In May 2012, The CW ordered the series for TV Season 2012-2013. After the series was moved to the Friday after two broadcast episodes, and there also was not convincing, the station was the beginning of April 2013, the setting of the series known.

The series started with The CW on 19 February 2013, the time slot of the failed previous series Emily Owens. Even the first episode reached a miserable audience of 0.86 million viewers before they even dropped further in the second episode. In response, the transmitter, the series moved from the first Tuesday to the Friday before he completely took from the program schedule in early April 2013. The remaining six episodes were aired in double episodes from 28 June to 12 July 2013.
