Church of San Pietro

Curio is a municipality in the district Magliasina in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland and is located south of the mountain Gheggio. The municipality also the exclave Bombinasco belongs to the northwest of the municipality.

History

In 1196 the village is mentioned in writing for the first time as Coira, later ( 1298 ) it appears as Cuyri. In 1352 a church dedicated to St. Peter is mentioned. The present village church dates from the year 1609.
