Curt Gasteyger

Curt Gasteyger ( born March 20, 1929 in Zurich ) is a Swiss political scientist.

Life

After studying law at the University of Zurich Gasteyger 1956-1959 worked at the Research Institute of the German Society for Foreign Policy in Frankfurt am Main and from then until 1962 at the International Commission of Jurists in Geneva. From 1964 to 1968 he was Director of Studies at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, and then to 1974, Deputy Director of the Atlantic Institute for International Affairs in Paris. From 1974 to 1994, Gasteyger professor at the Geneva Graduate Institute of International Studies and there likewise 1978-1999 director of the program for the study of strategy and international security. Since 1993 and until 1998 he was a member of the Advisory Council for Disarmament Affairs of the United Nations. 2003 Gasteyger was awarded the Grand Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
