Wall Zimbelkraut ( Cymbalaria muralis )

The Zimbelkräuter ( Cymbalaria ) belong to the family of the plantain family ( Plantaginaceae ). They are closely related to the Leinkräutern and snapdragons.

Description of the plant

Zimbelkräuter are perennial, herbaceous plant with long filamentous, climbing or hanging stems. The leaves are usually heart-shaped or round. The zygomorphic flowers are spurred. Due to the long flower spur the flowers are preferred served by bumblebees. Cymbalaria muralis is originally from southern Europe, but has been widely used in goods (such as marble blocks). Actually, a wild plant, Cymbalaria species are partially used in the garden. In the early 20th century Cymbalaria muralis has even acted in varieties: " Compacta Alba " ( with white flowers, shorter shoots), " globosa " (significantly shorter shoots, compatible for plantations ).

Species

There are about ten species that occur mainly in the southern and vorderasiatischern space:

  • Cymbalaria aequitriloba ( viv ) A. Chev. The home is Spain, the Balearic Islands, Italy, Sardinia and Corsica
  • Cymbalaria ebelii ( Cufod. ) Speta: It occurs in Albania and the former Yugoslavia
  • Cymbalaria glutinosa Bigazzi & Raffaelli: The home is Italy.
  • Cymbalaria hepaticifolia ( Poiret ) Wettst. It is endemic to Corsica
  • Cymbalaria longipes ( Boiss. & Heldr. ) A. Chev. It occurs in Greece, in the Aegean Sea, Crete, Cyprus and Turkey
  • Cymbalaria microcalyx ( Boiss. ) Wettst. Coming into Croatia, Albania, Greece, in the Aegean, Crete and Turkey ago
  • Cymbalaria muelleri ( Moris ) A. Chev. It is endemic to Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily
  • (Masonry ) Zimbelkraut (. .. Cymbalaria muralis G.Gaertn, B. Mey & body): The home is Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Switzerland, but the way in many other countries of the naturalized earth
  • Pale Zimbelkraut ( Cymbalaria pallida ( Ten. ) Wettst. ): The home is Croatia and Italy
  • Haired Zimbelkraut ( Cymbalaria pilosa ( Jacq. ) LH Bailey ): The home is Italy and Sardinia.
