Czarnów, Lubusz Voivodeship

Czarnów ( German Chernov, 1936-1945 Schernow ) is a village in Poland in the community Górzyca in the Lubusz Voivodeship.

Geography

Geographical location

Czarnów is located in the former Brandenburg Neumark at the Warthebruch valley close to the river Warta far from Kuestrin.

History

Also in Chernov a fort was built for the outer defenses of the fortress Kuestrin middle of the 19th century.

By 1945 Schernow was in the district of West Sternberg, Regierungsbezirk Frankfurt.

Population Development

In 1800 lived in the village next to the Lehnschulzen eleven farmers, 24 Kossäten, ten and seven Büdner granny.

Traffic

The narrow-gauge railway founded in 1905, " Kuestrin Hammer " had a break point with a waiting hall at the road near the village. Furthermore, the site is located on the former National Highway 114 (now DK 22).
